News Update

2008 has been another busy year for me!

aalsmeer marketWow another great year in flowers.

It started with a wedding organised in Australia but taking place in England, the bride found me on the web and we communicated by e-mail! It did feel strange not meeting the bride while making all the plans. I do like to meet with the bride or civil partners before the event so I can pick up on their feel for the day.

We are moving into more intricate flower phases with brighter colours often being used. Orange, magenta and jade are becoming more popular. These are colours that on the whole haven't been used for a long time in weddings.
The intricate designs often have crystals woven into the bouquets, with more weaving being used throughout the arrangements. Lots more sparkle is showing from the bride's bouquet and bridesmaids' designs to the grooms buttonhole often having a hint of crystal and it spreads into the reception flowers too!

I am always looking for new ideas, the inspiration often comes from Europe. Luckily I go to many workshops that have Dutch or French designers hosting the day, so I have a steady stream of inspiration.
Also, the flowers I use come direct from Holland, so I know I cannot buy fresher than that. Nor can anyone else!

Some couples plan their wedding or civil partnership around memorable dates as August 2008 (08.08) became particularly busy. Now September 2009 (09.09) is getting booked up and even 8 September 2010 (08.09.10) is getting mentioned too. Some couples think of everything!
